Мириам Дороти (Познер) Финкель (англ. Miriam Dorothy (Posner) Finkel) — американский радиобиолог, внесшая значительный вклад в молекулярную биологию[1].

Биография[править]

Мириам Дороти (Мириам Двора) Познер родилась 22 января 1916 года в Чикаго, штат Иллинойс, в семье эмигрантов из России.

В 1938 году получила степень бакалавра в области зоологии в Чикагском университете.

Затем работала в Wilson Junior College в Чикаго, занималась докторантурой и курсовой работой в области зоологии.

В 1944 году получила степень доктора философии в Чикагском университете.

Затем работала радиобиологом в Металлургической лаборатории Чикагского университета и на Клинтонском инженерном заводе — подразделении Манхэттенского проекта, занимавшемся обогащением урана для первых образцов атомного оружия.

Исследования в области медицинской опасности радиоизотопов, создания д радиологических стандартов в здравоохранения, изучала онкогенные вирусы, выделила вирус остеогенной саркомы мыши.

Была замужем за Ашером Финкелем, имела троих детей.

Умерла 20 августа 1999 года в Тусоне, штат Аризона.
