Лангер, Рут

Рут Лангер — американский теолог, профессор теологии в Бостонском колледже. Эксперт по иудейской литургии и христианско-иудейским отношениям.

Биография

Лангер получила образование в Хибру Юнион Колледже — Еврейском институте религии, где получила степень доктора философии (1994), магистра еврейской литературы (1985) и раввинское рукоположение (1986). Также она окончила Колледж Брин-Мор (бакалавр искусств, 1981).

Замужем за Джонатаном Сарной.

Взгляды

Лангер считает, что литургия развивалась постепенно на протяжении многих веков. В период развития, когда раввинский авторитет расходился с народными обычаями в вопросах литургии, она всегда следовала народным обычаям. Анализ развития службы Торы, проведённый Лангер, получил широкую известность.

Критикуя некоторые части христианской литургии, рассматриваемые как антииудейские, Лангер объясняла, что иудейская литургия не содержит антихристианских молитв.
