Мартин Мак-ан-Гайлл

Ма́ртин Мак-ан-Гайлл (англ. Máirtín Mac an Ghaill; [Нет даты!]) — британский социолог, теоретик в области социологии и образования.

Биография[править]

Известен как автор книг «Создание мужчин: маскулинность, сексуальность и школьное образование» (1994), «Образование и маскулинность» (2013) и «Современный расизм и этническая принадлежность» (1999).

Получил степень бакалавра в Ливерпульском университете, а степени магистра и доктора философии — в Астонском университете. Работал профессором в Бирмингемском, Шеффилдском и Ньюкаслском университетах. В настоящее время является профессором и директором аспирантуры в Ньюменском университете в Бирмингеме.

Научные интересы[править]

В сферу его научных интересов входят:

  • развитие критического понимания преподавания и обучения;
  • изменение педагогики и политики для достижения социального равенства;
  • переосмысление будущей работы в сфере образования.

Недавно завершил работу над книгой «Образование и маскулинность: социальные, культурные и глобальные трансформации»[1]. Был содиректором проекта, финансируемого Фондом Джозефа Раунтри, по изучению бангладешской молодёжи, этнической принадлежности и перехода к взрослой жизни. В настоящее время работает с аспирантами из Китая, Тайваня и Японии над темами глобальной маскулинности, миграции, культурной идентичности и разнообразия.
