Пелсер, Питер Б.












Питер Б. Пелсер (англ. Pieter B. Pelser; [Нет даты!]) — нидерландский и новозеландский ботаник, профессор систематики растений и куратор гербария в Кентерберийском университете в Крайстчерче (Новая Зеландия). Известен исследованиями эволюционной истории трибы Крестовниковые (лат. Senecioneae) и сооснованием проекта Co's Digital Flora of the Philippines.

Научная деятельность[править]

Одним из научных интересов Пелсера является эволюционная история трибы Крестовниковые (лат. Senecioneae), одной из крупнейших триб в крупнейшем семействе цветковых растений[1]. Он предпринял попытку определить и разграничить эту трибу и её проблематичный типовой род Senecio. Пелсер также изучает насекомых, питающихся этими растениями (Longitarsus), которые содержат пирролизидиновые алкалоиды, и факторы, определяющие выбор растений насекомыми[2].

Биография[править]

Питер Б. Пелсер родился в городе Вейхен в провинции Гелдерланд на востоке Нидерландов. Женат на филиппинском птеридологе Джули Ф. Барселоне.

Пелсер работает старшим преподавателем систематики растений в Кентерберийском университете.

Co's Digital Flora of the Philippines[править]
