Р. Дж. У. Эванс (Роберт Джон Уэстон Эванс, англ. Robert John Weston Evans; ^{[Нет даты!]}) — британский историк. Специализируется на постсредневековой истории Центральной и Восточной Европы.

Биография

Учился в школе Дин Клоуз в Челтнеме, а затем в Колледже Иисуса в Кембридже.

С 1997 по 2011 год Эванс был королевским профессором современной истории в Оксфордском университете. Является членом Ориел-колледжа в Оксфорде.

Изучает постсредневековую историю Центральной и Восточной Европы, в частности историю габсбургских земель с 1526 по 1918 год. Особое внимание уделяет роли языка в историческом развитии.

В настоящее время его основные исследования посвящены истории Венгрии с 1740 по 1945 год. Также изучает историю Уэльса. Является президентом Общества Давида ап Гвилима (общество валлийского языка Оксфордского университета). Член-основатель Учёного общества Уэльса и член его первого совета.

В ноябре 2019 года Эванс получил почётную серебряную медаль Яна Масарика в резиденции посла Чехии в Лондоне.
