Jianianhualong tengi — мелкий птицеподобный динозавр раннемелового периода[1].

Найден в северо-восточном Китае, в Байкай-Гоу, в отложениях формации Ицзань, провинция Ляонин, в 2017 году группой палеонтологов Сюй Сином, Филлом Карри, Майклом Питтманом. Назван в честь компании «Цзяняньхуа», спонсировавшей раскопки, long (лун) — дракон, и палеонтолога Фанфана Тэна (Fangfang Teng), обнаружившего останки этого теропода.
Жил около 124,4 млн лет назад.
В длину цзаньианьхуалун достигал 1 метра или чуть больше (до 112 см), весил всего 2,4 или 2,5 кг.
Был покрыт перьями как у птиц, возможно, он даже мог в какой-то степени и летать.
Майкл Питтман (Michael Pittman) из университета Гонконга сообщает:
Хвост Jianianhualong tengi, украшенный пучком больших перьев, был покрыт асимметричными перьями, одна сторона которых была более широкой, чем другая. Подобная структура перьев характерна для современных птиц и микрорапторов, четырехкрылых динозавров, способных парить на потоках воздуха. Это говорит о том, что самые древние предки птиц уже обладали «аэродинамическим» оперением.
Палеонтолог Эдинбургского университета Стивен Брюсатт отмечает, что из-за неполной сохранности, невозможно уверенно ответить, летал ли этот динозавр:
Перья птиц должны быть асимметричными, чтобы сформировать аэродинамический профиль. Это связано с физикой формы крыла, примерно так же, как крылья самолетов должны быть сконструированы определенным образом. Как ни странно, асимметричные перья располагались у него на хвосте. Значит ли это, что Jianianhualong использовал свой хвост для полета? Трудно быть в этом уверенным, мы просто не знаем, какими были другие перья этого животного.
Возможно, что цзаньианьхуалун всё же не умел активно летать и использовал свой пышный хвост и крылья для того, чтобы замедлять себя при падении с деревьев или холмов, или для разгона и торможения при погоне за очередной жертвой.
Был по-видимому всеядным.
