Gonatopsis octopedatus (Sasaki, 1920) — головоногий моллюск.

Общие сведения

Русское название — восьмирукий гонатопсис.

Описан в 1920 году.

Мантия достигает в длину 24 см (по другим данным, до 39 см, Hochberg, 2006), студенистая, узкая, сзади заостренная. У этого кальмара небольшой поч­ковидный плавник. Щупальца длинные, утонченные на концах, с мелкими присосками, сидящими в 6−12 рядов; имеются крючья. Фотофор не имеют. Вес — до 2,5 кг.

Охотится на ракообразных, рыб и т. д.

Населяют Японское море, Охотское море, Камчатку и воды от Берингийского склона до залива Аляска, живут как у дна, так и в толще воды, до 2 км в глубину.

Зрелые ооциты яичников имеют длину до 4,3 мм, зрелый сперматофор достигают около 10,7 мм в длину. Самки откладывают яйца на больших глубинах, перед гибелью всплывают к поверхности.
