Бакул Харшадрай Дхолакия (англ. Bakul Harshadrai Dholakia; [Нет даты!]) — индийский экономист и преподаватель. Бывший директор Индийского института менеджмента в Ахмадабаде (2002—2007). В 2007 году награждён премией Падма Шри за вклад в области литературы и образования.

Биография[править]

Бакул Дхолакия получил степень бакалавра искусств по экономике (с математикой в качестве дополнительного предмета) в Университете Бароды в 1967 году, заняв первое место на курсе[1]. Он был удостоен стипендии за успехи в учёбе от Университета Бароды[1]. В 1969 году получил степень магистра искусств по экономике со специализацией в эконометрике в том же университете[1]. Был награждён золотой медалью за первое место на курсе, а также получил стипендию за успехи в учёбе от правительства Индии. В 1973 году, в возрасте 26 лет, Дхолакия получил степень доктора философии по экономике в Университете Бароды. Тема его диссертации — «Источники экономического роста в Индии» (англ. Sources of Economic Growth in India)[2]. Впоследствии он получил стипендию Комиссии по университетским грантам[1].

Дхолакия имеет 45-летний опыт работы в сфере образования, включая 33 года в Индийском институте менеджмента в Ахмадабаде (IIM-A)[3]. В IIM-A он занимал кафедру Резервного банка Индии с 1992 по 1999 год, был деканом с 1998 по 2001 год и директором института с 2002 по 2007 год[4]. Он руководил 20 аспирантами, специализирующимися в области экономики, финансов, бизнес-политики и государственных систем. В период его работы директором IIM-A (с октября 2002 года) количество партнёрских учреждений для программ студенческого обмена увеличилось с 12 до 50 к 2006—2007 годам[7]. Была запущена годичная программа для руководителей, выпускники которой получили самые высокие зарплаты в том году[7]. В ноябре 2003 года, когда впервые в истории IIM произошла утечка экзаменационных материалов Common Admission Test (CAT), Дхолакия предпринял меры для сохранения репутации института[7]. Он выступил против решения министра развития человеческих ресурсов о снижении платы за обучение в IIM и в знак протеста отказался от гранта в размере 100 миллионов рупий, обеспечив самоокупаемость института[7].

С декабря 2007 года Дхолакия сотрудничал с Adani Group, занимая должности директора Института управления инфраструктурой Адани и Гуджаратского института медицинских наук Адани в Бхудже. Позже он стал генеральным директором Международного института менеджмента в Нью-Дели[8].

Дхолакия был членом правления Западного регионального отделения Резервного банка Индии с 1993 по 2001 год[9]. Правительство Индии назначило его председателем Национального совета по аккредитации технического образования (2005—2008). Он работал внешним директором в советах директоров ряда государственных и частных компаний, включая ONGC[10], Shipping Commission, Torrent Power, RNRL, Mahanagar Gas, Arvind, Ashima и L&T Power.

Жена Бакула Дхолакии, Судха, получила степень магистра экономики в Университете Бароды в 1974 году. Они поженились в 1975 году. Их старшая дочь Джигиша живёт в Канаде. Младшая дочь Пурви также переехала в Канаду, окончила программу последипломного менеджмента в Университете Фрейзер-Вэлли и работает в консалтинговой компании в Бернаби.
