Моше Гарсиэль (англ. Moshe Garsiel, ивр. משה גרסיאל) — израильский учёный, почетный профессор библеистики в университете Бар-Илан[1].

Биография[править]

Родился 6 января 1936 года в Тель-Авиве.

Служил ЦАХАЛе.

В Тель-Авивском университете получил степень бакалавра в области еврейской Библии и еврейской литературы (1965), степень магистра в области еврейской Библии (1968), степень доктора философии в области еврейской Библии (1974), постдокторская степень в области библейской археологии (1974—1975).

Работал в университете Бар-Илан: инструктор библейского факультета (1968—1973); преподаватель кафедры Библии (1974—1977); старший преподаватель (1978—1980); доцент (1984); профессор (1992—2005). В 2006 году вышел на пенсию из Бар-Илана в качестве почётного профессора.

Работал приглашенным профессором Библии и библейской археологии в Еврейском теологическом колледже, Скоки, Иллинойс, США (1977—1978, 1981); был приглашенным профессором Библии и библейской археологии в Университете Висконсин-Милуоки, Висконсин, США (1985—1986); приглашенный профессор летней аспирантской школы Еврейского теологического колледжа, Скоки, Иллинойс, США (1989 и 1991); приглашенный профессор Библии и библейской археологии Еврейского колледжа при Лондонском университете, Великобритания (1992—1993).

Участвовал в археологических раскопках в Тель-Афек-Антипатрисе (1975). Инициировал, организовал и руководил студентами в течение трех сезонов раскопок Избет-Сарта (как полагают, место библейского Эбен-ха-эзер) (1975—1977). В ходе этих раскопок была обнаружена древняя еврейская надпись, вырезанная на черепке и датируется концом периода шофетов или началом Израильского царства.

В июне 2020 года профессор Моше Гарсиэль и его жена, доктор Бат-Шева Гарсиэль, использовали арабскую топонимию (изучение географических названий) и местные исламские традиции, чтобы прийти к выводу, что местоположение Циклага — Тель-а-Шария в Негеве.

Области исследований: географические и археологические аспекты Библии, угаритские тексты и Библия, история и историография Библии, библейские имена и их литературное значение, литературное толкование Библии.

Женат на докторе Бат-Шеве Гарсиэль, преподавателе раннего ислама на кафедре ближневосточных исследований Университета Бар-Илан, специалист по Корану. Они проживают в Петах-Тикве и имеют троих детей.
