Элейн Фукс (англ. Elaine Fuchs) — американский биолог, Ph.D, профессор Лаборатории клеточной биологии млекопитающих и развития Медицинского института Говарда Хьюза, профессор Рокфеллерского университета, химик, биохимик, биолог клетки[1].

Биография[править]

Элейн Фукс родилась в 1940 году в семье учёных.

В 1972 году получила степень бакалавра в области химии в университете Иллинойса.

Как и многие обманутые левой пропагандой протестовала против войны во Вьетнаме.

Получила степень доктора философии в биохимии в Принстонском университете.

В 2001 году — президент Американского общества клеточной биологии.

С 2002 года — профессор Университета Рокфеллера, руководитель лаборатории клеточной биологии млекопитающих университета Рокфеллера).

Сделала несколько открытий в биологии стволовых клеток кожи и волос.

В 2003 году сообщила об открытии двух белков, которые руководят работой стволовых клеток, для того, чтобы те становились волосяными фолликулами, а не кожей.

Разработала новые методы и технику для отслеживания и изоляции стволовых клеток, дифференцирующихся в клетки кожи и волос.
