Эмануэль Тов (Эмануил Тов, англ. Emanuel Tov, ивр. עמנואל טוב) — израильский учёный, профессор библейского факультета Еврейского университета в Иерусалиме[1].

Биография[править]

Родился 15 сентября 1941 года в Амстердаме во время немецкой оккупации. Когда ему был один год, его родители передали его христианской семье. Родители погибли во время Холокоста. Воспитывался у дяди.

В 1959 году окончил классическую гимназию в Амстердаме, где изучал классические и современные европейские языки. В то же время изучал иврит в талмуд-торе.

В 1961 году репатриировался в Израиль, где начал свои академические исследования в Еврейском университете Иерусалима, где получил степень бакалавра по изучению Библии и греческой литературы (1964) и степень магистра по изучению Библии (1967). Затем продолжил свои исследования на факультете Ближневосточных языков и литературы в университете Гарварда (1967—1969).

С 1969 года преподавал на библейском факультете Еврейского университета, сначала в качестве преподавателя (1969—1974), а затем старшего преподавателя (1974—1980); с 1986 года — профессор библейского факультета, а с 1990 года возглавлял кафедру библеистики.

В 1973 году в Еврейском университете защитил докторскую диссертацию по теме «The Septuagint Translation of Jeremiah and Baruch».

С 1990 или 1991 года по 2008 или 2009 год — главный редактор проекта публикаций свитков Мёртвого моря. Под его руководством в 1992—2003 годах было выпущено 30 томов публикаций исследований. Всего за его каденцию опубликовано 33 тома.

В 2006 году был избран иностранным членом Британской академии.

В 2009 году — лауреат Государственной премии Израиля.

В 2012 году был избран членом АН Израиля.

В 2017 году был избран иностранным членом Американской академии искусств и наук.

Специализируется в текстовой критики Священного Писания на еврейском и греческом языках, и на изучении свитков Кумрана. Автор 11 книг. Подготовил более 170 исследований как текстов Кумрана, так и текстов еврейских и греческих Библий, и других библейских работ.

Со своей супругой Ликой Аа (Lika née Aa) имеет 3 детей.
