Ярон Матрас (англ. Yaron Matras; [Нет даты!]) — английский лингвист[1][2]. Специализируется на цыганском языке и его диалектах.

Биография[править]

Он изучал общую лингвистику и арабский в Еврейском университете в Иерусалиме. Также изучал сравнительные германские языки в Тюбингенском университете. Там он специализировался на билингвизме, социолингвистике, диалектологии, германских языках и языках Ближнего Востока.

Матрас окончил магистратуру и получил степень PhD в Гамбургском университете. Он специализировался на курдском языке и функционально-типологическом анализе цыганского языка. Позже работал преподавателем и исследователем в Гамбургском университете. Также был руководителем по коммуникациям в НПО. В 1995 году начал работать в Манчестерском университете. Сейчас он является профессором Школы языков, лингвистики и культур.

Матрас редактирует междисциплинарный журнал «Romani Studies» (ранее «Journal of the Gypsy Lore Society»). Он входит в редколлегию журналов «Empirical Approaches to Linguistic Typology» и «Special Languages». С 1993 по 1995 год был редактором «Romnews Information Service». Выступает консультантом Совета Европы, Института «Открытое общество» и фонда Next Page.

Исследования[править]

Его исследования посвящены связи грамматики и дискурса. Он изучает прагматико-функциональный подход к грамматическим категориям и лингвистическую типологию. Также исследует контактные языки, билингвизм, лингвистическую антропологию и диалектологию.

Публикации Матраса охватывают темы от дейксиса до изменения порядка слов. Он рассматривает эргативность, комплементацию и координацию, смешанные языки, языковые заимствования и грамматикализацию под влиянием языковых контактов. В своих работах он уделяет внимание описательной грамматике, диалектологии и истории различных языков.

Матрас специализируется на лингвистике цыганского языка и языках Ближнего Востока (курдский, домари, иврит, турецкий, арабский, новоарамейский, идиш, ладино). Он также изучает германские языки и немецкие диалекты.

Его интересы включают социолингвистические исследования. Он работал над стандартизацией языков меньшинств (курдского и цыганского). Матрас изучает функции и структурный состав жаргонных и тайных языков (Lekoudesch или иврит торговцев скотом, енишский, ротвельш и англо-цыганский).

Одно из его текущих направлений — лингвистические аспекты миграции, диаспоры и культурной гибридности. Он исследует вклад лингвистики в создание дисциплинарной теории гибридности.

Некоторые его работы финансировались Советом по исследованиям в области искусств и гуманитарных наук (AHRC) по программе «Конвергенция языка и языковые ареалы». Совет по экономическим и социальным исследованиям (ESRC) поддержал его проект «Место, мобильность и дифференциация диалектов в цыганском языке».

Матрас — один из инициаторов проекта Romlex. Это многодиалектная лексическая онлайн-база данных для сохранения и защиты цыганского языка.

Он участвовал в создании базы данных по морфосинтаксису цыганского языка (при поддержке ESRC, AHRC и Института «Открытое общество»). Также работал над проектом по смешанным языкам (финансировался AHRC).

Среди других его публикаций — книга о цыганском языке (2002), исследование грамматических категорий цыганского языка (1994). В 2003 году он написал очерк грамматики нижненемецкого языка совместно с Гертруд Реершемиус. В 2005 году в соавторстве с Эйприл Макмахон и Найджелом Винсентом выпустил работу о языковых ареалах. Он также редактировал несколько сборников по цыганской лингвистике.
